Classic me turning anything and everything into a dessert with these soft, chewy SOURDOUGH CHOCOLATE CHIP ALMOND BUTTER COOKIES.🍪🤎

I know what you’re thinking – how could this actually taste good?? 😂 I was skeptical at first as well, but these cookies are sooo chewy and soft compared to a classic freshly baked cookie due to the acidity of the sourdough. The best part is that this recipe is super quick (and not an all-day ordeal like most sourdough recipes you’ll find!).

Whip these up the next time you’re making sourdough for the week with your discard! You won’t regret it 🍪

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup room temp butter
  • 1 cup almond butter (sub for peanut butter or any nut butter)
  • 1/2 cup coconut sugar
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1/2 cup sourdough starter
  • 1 1/2 cups flour
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp sea salt

Instructions:

1. Preheat oven to 350.

2. Using a hand mixer- combine sugar, coconut sugar, butter, & almond butter in a large bowl and cream together until light and fluffy. Then, add the egg and mix well.

3. Add vanilla and sourdough starter and mix well, set aside.

4. In another bowl, mix together the dry ingredients. (Add about 1/3 at the time). Add chocolate chips and stir again.

5. Line baking trays with parchment paper. Take about a tablespoonful of the dough and place your cookies on the tray.

6. Bake for 13-15 minutes or until golden brown. Transfer to a cooling rack and enjoy!
